I had a great time tasting different items today. Ask me what I tasted, whether it was sour, sweet, bitter or salty and which I liked/didn't like. I also did some winter art today. It was tough! It was also library day. If I didn't have my library book bag that the school gave me, please make sure I bring it on the next library day (January 21). In math, I figured out numbers that were 1 more, 1 less, 10 more and 10 less. Today was a really fun day, except for the fact that it was indoor recess due to cold temperatures!

Arbre Généalogique (Family Tree)
Today, I am bringing home my family tree paper. Can you please help me spell the names of the people in my family (brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents)? (Mme would like me to write the names, please!)
We had gymnastics today and M. Trevor said to wear sweatpants/leggings for gym for the next month. In math today, we played race to 50 with "un ami"when we were done our skip counting. We also went to musique. During French Language Arts, we learned new winter vocabulary. Une bonne journée!

Reminders from Mme: please send in the signed forms for our tasting science experiment by tomorrow. Paper copies were sent home yesterday in "la pochette bleue". Additionally, please send in a photo from the winter break for students to use as a starter for our winter writing. These can be emailed to me. Merci!
Today, we spent a period on printing skills. We talk about if letters are small ("coccinelle" - ladybug), tall ("girafe") or hang down ("singe" - monkey). In Sciences today, we talked about the different parts of the eye. Ask me what we did to see the change in our pupil. We also tried writing and drawing with our eyes closed. We started a new literacy game called Jeu du Loup. I practiced reading the syllables in it with my buddy. In math, we continued counting by 10. And we got to start gymnastics in gym!

First Day of 2020!
We had a great day today. This morning, we needed to start up our new calendars, as well as seating arrangements. Ask me who I'm sitting next to now. We are studying two new letters this week. Ask me what actions go along with "t et n". In Science, we learned about sight, talked about its importance, what we could do and not do with limited vision and watched a couple of videos about it. In Social Studies, we finished talking about our responsibilities at school and we had "la musique."
From Mme: below are our high-frequency words for the week. More information is in the monthly newsletter (to follow in an email).
Bonne année! Happy New Year!

A Fun Final Day of 2019
Thank you to our parent volunteers who came in and helped make our Holiday Centres possible! It couldn't have (literally) happened without you!
Today was a great day - but odd, we said! We didn't do French this morning, we did Braille! Ask me what I made with braille and how I made it. In the afternoon, we had more free time in the gym and watched a Toupie et Binou (en français) about Noël and finished some work. Ask me where I got to do my silent reading today! It was a great day!
Many Merry Christmas and Happy Winter Break wishes from Mme! She says THANK YOU for all of the lovely and generous gifts as well as the heartwarming handmade cards! (Those are the most precious!) Enjoy the family time together and see you all next year!

Final Day of 2019 tomorrow!
Wow, the time has flown by! We have one last day of school tomorrow (PD day on Friday for the students) and it'll be festive wear day!
Today, we learned a bit about braille when studying touch in Science. In math, we continued skip counting, counting hands by 5. We had some free time in Gym and we earned free time in the classroom by speaking French. We also made something with our buddies but you'll need to wait until tomorrow to see what it is!

All our library books have been returned!
Thank you for helping us all return our library books - we got a special email from Mme N congratulating our class!
Today, we skip counted by 2 again. Ask me what we made that seats 2 people. Some of us were videoed reading a book; it will probably have to wait until January to get into IRIS. In Science, we learned some new words related to touch and glued several items onto our hands (paper hands, that is!).
Tomorrow is festive toque/hat day again.
